This review is for fly fishing. Customers deserve a better description in advance of the trip to help them make proper selections. Instead it was "do you want to fish for big browns or small rainbows." Uhh, what do you think? When we showed up and got geared up, I proceeded to literally sit for the first hour of our trip while the guide taught my novice friend the basics instead of being directed where to fish. As an experienced fly fisher, at least direct me to a spot that I can put some bugs on the water! After 90 mins of nothing, we were then taken to highly technical water where we were being asked to make 30 yd casts over brush from our knees. It was absurd. Over the entire trip, we caught 1 fish and spent half of it standing around. I have been on several guided trips and this one was by far the most underwhelming.

Being from Florida and living at 123 feet above sea level, we found the Capitol Reef Outfitter tours to be outstanding and the landscape other-worldly! At first we thought we were on the Moon, then the scenery looked like we were on Mars and now thanks to our guide Shawn, we know where in the Hell Hanksville is. Shawn was extremely knowledgeable and very considerate of what was exciting for us and our experience. We would recommend this outfitter to anyone looking for a true Utah adventure!!

We had a fantastic time with Greg and Wayne on our fly fishing charter. They were patient and very helpful in teaching us how to fly fish. They made it a very memorable trip, especially for my son who eats, sleeps, and breathes fishing. Thanks for a great trip!

Had wonderful jeep tour of Cathedral Valley and the Bentonite Hills. Larry Bray was our guide and he made this trip amazing! His vast knowledge of the area and geology made it so interesting. We even saw dinosaur bones! He is from the area and so he can really answer any question you may have. I have to say he was the best and most knowledgeable guide I have ever had on a jeep tour. Highly recommend Capitol Reef Outfitters!

We did a 6 hour tour that included Cathedral Valley. There was so many breathtaking sights it is hard to describe. Even included a picnic lunch. Kevin was our guide and he was awesome. So knowledgeable and personable. Would highly recommend.

This was the coolest thing i've ever done!!!
I waited until the last minute - dont take the chance and miss out, just book it!! I've never driven or riden an ATV before, so i was a little aprehensive - Shawn was awesome with me and my family! We got 2 seaters and they were perfect. We had a 7 yr old and 10 yr old and they did not stop smiling the entire 2 hours. Shawn gave us a whole geographic lesson during the photo op stops...i just cant say enough good things about this experience - we'll never forget this! DO IT, YOU WONT REGRET IT!!

Our family just returned to Coastal NC from SW Utah and had a great time. We prebooked guided fly fishing for four of us. Our two sons had never tried it before. Our guides were patient and kind, helpful and knowledgeable. We all had a great time and caught fish!
Unexpectedly, we went on an ATV tour, which ended up being a real highlight of our week long trip! None of us imagined that it would be so fun! Even our 16yr old daughter smiled and laughed the entire time. None of our group drove, which we think worked out better because their team knew the landscape, what the ATVs are capable and where to go. We ended up high up on a ridge with beautiful sunset clouds.
