This tour starts in Capitol Reef’s hub-town Torrey and 3 minutes later we enter Capitol Reef National Park. Driving through the Fremont at River Ford is sure to peak your interest as we quickly enter the Morrison formation on our way to the Bentonite Hills. The colors of each layer and black volcanic basalt rock cannot be more impressive, unless you’re Neil Armstrong!
Our ultimate destination at the Temple of the Sun, Moon & Stars will not disappoint and the rainbow colored hills throughout this tour will keep it interesting. Moderate off-roading during the middle of the trip make it fun!

Departure from Torrey is generally before 9am throughout the season due to the length of this tour. The diversity of Cathedral Valley in its entirety is arguably the most impressive on the planet. Find out for yourself!
River Ford must be crossed when there are no flash floods in the area which during monsoon season can be a challenge. Afternoon thunderstorms make the Bentonite regions impassable for most vehicles and a conversation amongst our guides each morning prior to entering park boundaries.
